Brandon Brockway-Ring is the proud owner of Key Inspection Services, serving the greater Seattle area with top-tier home and commercial property inspections. With a deep-rooted background in construction and over 5,500 property inspections under his belt, Brandon is a Certified Master Inspector who brings unmatched experience, passion, and precision to every job. His unique edge? He is also a licensed Realtor and an Investor, giving him a 360-degree understanding of every client’s goal, whether they are buying, selling, or analyzing a property for long-term growth.
Growing up on construction sites and quite literally running around rooftops, Brandon’s hands-on training started early. After high school, he explored his creative side by playing in several bands, but his heart never strayed far from the Pacific Northwest or the construction trades. He went on to study Construction Management, doubling down on his commitment to mastering the built environment.
His journey into the inspection industry began serendipitously while helping a home inspector rehab a property, a turning point that led to a full-on obsession with property inspections. He quickly rose through the ranks, spending seven years as Key Inspection Services’ Lead Inspector before taking the reins as owner.
Brandon has built his reputation on unbiased, detail-driven inspections that exceed Washington State standards. He’s especially known for integrating advanced tools like sewer scopes, mold and air quality testing, drone imaging, gas leak detection, and infrared thermal scanning to give clients a complete picture of their property’s condition.
When he’s not crawling through attics or scanning crawlspaces, Brandon is chilling at his cozy 1940s Craftsman home just north of Seattle with his wife Blythe, their daughter Chloe, dog Murphy, and cat Meow Meow. He’s an outdoor junkie who’s always up for hiking, backpacking, camping, or scaling cliffs.

Jose Rendon | Inspector Manager
Jose Rendon is a dynamic Inspector Manager who brings a powerhouse combination of hands-on construction mastery and unwavering dedication to every property. His journey began not in an office, but in the field, where he spent several years as a dedicated laborer before achieving the respected status of a journey-level carpenter. This background means he doesn’t just inspect a home; he understands it from the foundation up, having built and repaired them himself.
With over 4 years of inspection experience on top of his extensive construction career, Jose transitioned into this role to become a true advocate for homeowners. Inspired by the language barriers his parents faced when pursuing the American dream of homeownership, Jose is personally driven to ensure every client, just like his parents, receives clear, confident, and expert guidance.
When he’s not delivering crucial, detail-oriented inspections, Jose grounds himself in the Pacific Northwest outdoors, often hitting the hiking trails, exploring the local food scene, and relaxing with his wife, his papillon-mix dog, and loved ones in his home community.

Shannon is the heart of our operations at Key Inspection Services, serving as both Office Manager and Client Care Coordinator. Based in Arlington, WA, Shannon is a Pacific Northwest local who brings over 20 years of experience in and around the real estate industry, and her deep passion for customer care makes her a vital part of our client experience.
Before joining Key, Shannon spent years working across various sectors of real estate — and for the past 3 years, she’s also been a licensed Realtor in Washington State. Her firsthand knowledge of the home buying and selling process makes her an invaluable asset to both clients and agents. Whether she’s coordinating complex inspection schedules, answering client questions, or supporting the rest of the team, Shannon makes everything run smoother, faster, and more efficiently.
Known for her warm communication style and can-do attitude, Shannon is always focused on making the scheduling process easy and stress-free. She takes pride in providing exceptional customer service with a personal touch — whether you’re a first-time buyer, a seasoned investor, or a real estate agent navigating tight timelines.
Shannon lives in Arlington, WA, with her husband and youngest daughter, and is the proud mom of six kids and a growing crew of grandchildren. After 16 years in the Pacific Northwest, she has a strong love for the region and its communities.
Outside the office, Shannon is all about living life to the fullest. She enjoys cooking, thrifting, skiing with her family, and traveling to sunny vacation spots with loved ones. She’s equally comfortable hosting Sunday dinner or coordinating a full inspection week — and always does it with heart.
Justin Atchley

Justin joined Key Inspection Services in 2021, bringing with him a rare combination of precision, discipline, and a rock-solid work ethic sharpened over years in both professional sports and high-level manufacturing. As a Certified Home Inspector serving Skagit County, Snohomish County, and beyond, Justin offers clients the same sharp focus and accountability he once brought to the pitcher’s mound.
Before stepping into the world of residential and commercial property inspections, Justin held a supervisory role at a leading aerospace manufacturing company, where he managed teams, enforced quality control standards, and developed a keen eye for structural integrity and technical detail.
But here’s the kicker: Justin is a former Major League Baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds. He played through college, the minor leagues, and all the way to the big show, and during off-seasons, he stayed grounded by working construction jobs, deepening his hands-on knowledge of homes and building systems. Today, that legacy lives on as he mentors the next generation of players as a youth pitching coach in Skagit and Snohomish County.
Justin was born and raised in Skagit County and now calls Camano Island home, where he lives with his partner, Victoria, and their two dogs and two cats. The couple shares a love for the outdoors. Weekends are often spent designing their garden landscape, camping in Washington and Oregon state parks, or simply enjoying the Pacific Northwest’s natural beauty.
His daughter, Tate, is currently pursuing a degree in Health and Sciences at Washington State University, making Justin not only a proud father but a firm believer in lifelong learning and professional excellence.

Gordon Papik

Gordon joined Key Inspection Services in 2020 and has since become a powerhouse of precision and reliability on the inspection front. With over 2000 home inspections completed across the Greater Seattle Area, Gordon combines scientific expertise with hands-on handyman know-how to deliver thorough, no-nonsense property evaluations.
Born and raised in Washington State, Gordon’s natural curiosity and mechanical mind showed up early; he’s always been the guy who takes things apart just to see how they work. That inquisitive nature led him to earn a degree in Chemistry, where he developed a sharp eye for detail and the discipline to follow exact process skills that now serve him (and our clients) exceptionally well.
Gordon is also a key resource for environmental testing and sample collection, leveraging his chemistry background to ensure mold, air quality, and water samples are collected with scientific rigor and accuracy. He’s the go-to when precision matters.
Before launching into the home inspection industry, Gordon worked as a handyman for several years. It was during this time, fixing homes and learning how all the systems function, that he crossed paths with a home inspector and realized his talents and interests were a perfect match for the field.
Today, Gordon lives in Shoreline, WA with his partner, dog, and cat. When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him refining his own home, upgrading, repairing, and experimenting with new ways to make it more efficient, comfortable, and functional. Alex Urrutia

With over a decade in the home inspection industry and thousands of inspections completed, Alex brings unmatched experience, technical knowledge, and street-smart insight to every property he inspects. From urban high-rises to rural single-family homes, Alex has truly seen it all and his hands-on experience is what sets him apart.
Alex began his inspection career in Chicago, where he worked directly with the Chicago Housing Authority, inspecting multiple subsidized housing units daily. These properties included Section 8 housing, senior living facilities, veteran housing, and YMCA units high-volume, high-pressure environments where thoroughness and speed weren’t optional, they were mandatory. This intense foundation honed his eye for detail and fueled his passion for helping people live in safer, healthier homes.
In 2015, Alex relocated to Seattle with his partner, eager to explore the Pacific Northwest and expand his professional horizons. After earning his Washington State Home Inspector License, Alex initially launched his own inspection business before being recruited by Key Inspection Services where his depth of experience and commitment to excellence quickly made him a cornerstone of the team.
Never one to rest on experience alone, Alex furthered his technical education by enrolling in Renton Technical College’s Property Maintenance Program, adding advanced understanding of building systems and components to his already vast toolkit.
Alex currently lives in South Seattle with his partner, where they enjoy being immersed in the rich culture and vibrant neighborhoods the area has to offer.
Outside of work, Alex is all about exploration and personal growth. Whether he’s off-roading through Washington’s rugged terrain in his 4Runner, training in mixed martial arts, or diving into his passion for personal fitness and creative arts, he brings the same energy and curiosity to life as he does to inspections.
